ScrollReel is a Chrome extension that turns a web page into a scrolling video. This policy explains what the extension does and does not do with your data.
ScrollReel does not collect, store, or transmit any of your data anywhere. Everything happens on your computer, inside your browser. There are no servers, no analytics, and no accounts.
When you click the ScrollReel icon on a page, the extension:
chrome.storage.local) so the editor tab can open and build your video from them. This all happens locally in your browser. The page images never leave your device, are never uploaded anywhere, and are never seen by us or any third party.
The screenshots are held in your browser's local storage only for as long as you're using the editor. The exported video is saved directly to your own Downloads folder by Chrome, the same way any browser download works. ScrollReel has no server, so there is nothing for it to send data to.
Page.captureScreenshot. This is what lets ScrollReel capture the entire page at full resolution instead of just what's visible on screen. It is attached only for the few seconds a capture takes, then detached immediately. If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will be updated.
